West End, NC--Pete and Chris Parker of Winston-Salem, NC fired a seven-under par 65 to win the 35^th Father-Son Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Legacy Golf Links in Aberdeen, NC on Friday, July 27.

Pete, 66, a surgeon and Chris, 20, a student at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN made seven birdies versus no bogeys in today's round.

"We didn't make any mistakes and took full advantage of every opportunity", said Pete Parker.  

The Parkers, whom are members at Old Town Club in Winston-Salem, hit an impressive 17 of 18 greens today.

"We really like the golf course", stated Chris Parker. Legacy Golf Links is a Jack Nicklaus II design that hosted the 2000 United States Women's Public Links Championship.

This year's Carolinas Father-Son Championship was conducted at five Pinehurst, NC area golf courses with 450 teams competing in sixteen divisions. The tournament sites are Beacon Ridge Country Club in Seven Lakes, Foxfire Golf and Country Club in Foxfire Village, Legacy Golf Links in Aberdeen, The Plantation Golf Club in Southern Pines, and Pinewild Country Club in Pinehurst.
