Final Results
La Romana, Dominican Republic -- Phillip Greene of Charlotte NC made a ten-foot par putt on the third playoff hole to propel he and his partner, Dennis Helms of Monroe, NC to victory in the 11th Island Four Ball Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association at Casa de Campo Resort in the Dominican Republic.
Greene and Helms outlasted South Carolinians Andy Gianoukas and Keith Hess, who had led after each of the first two rounds.
Net flight winners included Bill Biggins and Harold Robinson of Camden, SC in the Altos Flight, Ada Ellen and David Smith of Gastonia in the Casa Flight and George and Pat Watterworth of Pinehurst, NC in the Playa Flight.
The CGA Island Four-Ball Championship is an annual winter golf trip that made its fourth appearance at Casa de Campo in 2007, which includes the 34th ranked golf course in the world (according to Golf Digest), Teeth of the Dog. The other two rounds were contested on the Links and Dye Fore courses at Casa de Campo.
