Final Results
Wilmington, NC - The Carolinas team dominated the final-day singles matches to win the Carolinas-Virginias Team Matches, 31-17 at Eagle Point Golf Club.
Carolinas captain Jim Burgess of Columbia, SC was pleased to nab the win.
"We lost the title last year at the Country Club of Virginia so we really wanted to get it back on our home soil," said Burgess. "We were clicking on all cylinders this year."
The matches feature the best amateurs from North and South Carolina who play their counterparts from Virginia and West Virginia.
The 3 formats are played at four-ball, foursomes, and singles match play with one point available in each match.
The Carolinas leads the all-time record at 46-17-1.
The Carolinas-Virginias Team Matches are conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association, Virginia State Golf Association and the West Virginia Golf Association.
