Callawassie Island, SC -- Final round results of the 33rd Carolinas Women's Four-Ball Championship hosted by Callawassie Island Club on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 (Par 36-36-72, 5565 yards; Championship Division yardage/course rating: 5565 yards-73.1/131; Tournament Division yardage/course rating: 5044 yards-70.6/124).
Meredith Few, 21, of Aiken, SC and Anne Marie Covar, 18, of Edgefield, SC fired a final round six-under par 66 to win the championship by an impressive nine strokes over Lori Teague of Newton, NC-Kim Briele of New Bern, NC and Jennifer Adams of Okatie, SC-Pat Bevan of Bluffton, SC.
Few and Covar are both members of the Wofford College women's golf team.
Few lead the assault by carding five birdies on holes #2, #4, #7, #13 and #16. Covar was steady all day making numerous pars and adding a birdie of her own on #17.
"These tournaments are really special to us because we get to meet and know so many nice people that we can already call friends", Few said at the awards presentation.
Teams were pre-flighted within their division. The championship division played the championship tees and competed for the overall title. The tournament division played a shorter course. Division results and merchandise payout is listed below.
