Final Results
Chapel Hill, NC -- Final results of the 45th Twin States Junior Girls Golf Championship hosted by Governors Club on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Par 36-36-72, 5928 yards.
Victoria Allred of Pfafftown, NC comes from behind and wins by four strokes over Evelyn Dole of Raleigh, NC to capture her first major CGA Championship title. Allred carded five birdies on the day to shoot a two under par, 70--145 two day total. "I just aim for the center of the green and hope to make a putt," Allred laughed. "It's really a simple game." Allred's best stretch came on the inward nine after she made three birdies in a row on holes 12, 13 and 14 finishing with a 33 on the back.
When asked what winning her first major championship meant to her she smiled and thought for a minute. "It means a lot to me. I have worked really hard on my game this summer and it shows me that all my hard work has paid off." Allred also fulfilled another one of her golfing goals as well. "I always wanted to make the Carolinas Junior Girls Team Matches and now I have. I can't wait to play on them next year." By winning this championship Allred has earned a spot on the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Challenge and will represent the Carolinas team. These annual matches take eight players from the Carolinas who compete against their counterparts from Virginia and Maryland.
While giving her acceptance speech Allred wanted to make sure everyone knew she was dedicating this win to her "Paw-Paw" who she lost last year. "I was very close to him and it's been difficult to not have him around. This win was for him."
Medalist Emily Brooks of Chapel Hill, NC finished in a tie for 3rd place.
Players were placed into flights for the final round.

This championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association which is in its 102nd year of serving amateur golf in the Carolinas.
