USGA Announces National Revision Schedule Effective in 2012
West End, NC (6/17/09) - The USGA has
decided to implement a national revision schedule, meaning that
every golf club will be required to have an update of the Handicap
Index for each of its members effective the first and fifteenth day
of every month effective January 1, 2012. There are many reasons for this change, the primary
one being that having a standard schedule with revisions effective
on the same dates every month enables clubs and players, especially
those who are members of more than one association, to know when
there is a “new” value available for a competition. The Carolinas
Golf Association's current handicap revision schedule on the first
and fifteenth day of every month already conforms with the new USGA
policy.
