To: CGA Carolinas Interclub Captains
From: CGA Interclub Director
The Carolinas Golf Association will officially kick-off the 2010 Interclub competition on Wednesday March 31 with the first of six regional captains meetings. This is the 15th season for the Carolinas Interclub competition involving both individual and four-ball “match” play in Ryder Cup style format. Each participating club is required to attend by sending at least one representative (i.e. Interclub Captain and /or co-Captain, Club Pro or an Assistant Pro). The purpose of these meetings is to:
While it is anticipated that you will be represented at the meeting location closest to your club, you may attend any one of these meetings that best fits your schedule. Each club representative will receive a binder containing information on the interclub format, rules of play, blank forms, etc. The power point presentation will also be available to all Captains for their team discussion. Light refreshments will be provided.
In order for me to plan appropriately, please select the meeting you will attend and RSVP (via e-mail to: Interclub@Carolinasgolf.org). In addition, please indicate who will attend from your club.
These meetings should last approximately 90 minutes.

Each Club must be represented at one of these meetings. Please come prepared to “DRAFT” a Home-and-Away schedule with other clubs in your group. In planning your schedule, please consider starting your matches no later than May and allowing for make-up dates at the end of season due to potential rain-outs. All regular season matches must be completed before August 31 in order to begin the playoffs. 32 clubs will advance to the regional playoffs starting September 1. Winners will advance through a single elimination playoff ladder with the Semi-finals and Championship match played over the same week-end at Pine Needles (Mid Pines course) to determine the 2010 Champion.
I look forward to working with each of you and to another competitive Carolinas Interclub season.
Sincerely,
Tom Thorpe – CGA Interclub Director
