Handicap Card

What Does the IGN Number On My Handicap Card Mean?

If you have applied to compete in a CGA championship this year, you probably have noticed a space on your entry form for your IGN (International Golf Network) number. IGN numbers assist our office in checking handicap indexes quickly and more efficiently. We check all handicap indexes before a player is entered into a CGA Championship.

Your IGN number is composed of your local handicap number (usually four or five digits) preceded by your five-digit club number (see picture). IGN numbers also allow you to post scores played at other clubs on the computer at that club, and have it automatically transferred back to your home club. If you do not have an IGN number on your handicap label, your club is not yet participating in the International Golf Network. The CGA is requiring all member clubs be on the system by December 31, 2001.
