Wilmington, NC-- The 2003 Carolinas Senior Player of the Year, Robert Kulp of Winston-Salem "backed in" to victory in the NC Senior Championship at the Landfall Dye course. Kulp stated, "I have finally learned to never give up and concentrate on every shot." It paid off as the Landfall curse continued for Larry Boswell. Larry shot an unthinkable 83 and jokingly stated that he would think hard about ever playing here again.

Kulp, playing in the next to last group, hit his second shot on the par five 18^th to within 15 feet for an easy birdie and a two shot lead over Ernie Newton of High Point. Newton also birdied the 18^th but finished one stroke away from forcing a playoff.

Strong swirling winds made the perfectly conditioned Dye layout play much more difficult for the final round. Proper club selection was the key to a good score.
