HERITAGE GOLF CLUB CLAIMS 28TH PRO-AMATEUR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Kannapolis, NC: The Heritage Golf Club team from Wake Forest, NC bested 39 other teams and rainy, cold, miserable weather to win the 28th Carolinas Pro-Amateur Championship. Professional Mark Slawter and Amateur John Finster were first out and said they never expected their six birdie, no bogie round would hold up. As it turned out, playing early had it’s advantage as they had only three holes to play after rain stopped play for an hour.

Defending champions, Curt Sanders & Ian Schneider out of the University Club, Blythewood, SC could do no better than even par 72 and tied for 18th. The tournament is conducted at Four-Ball stroke play, counting the best ball of a two man team as the score on each hole.
