Please check the enclosed pairing sheet for your starting time on Tuesday, August 24, 2004. Remember that sectional qualifying is 18 holes, that you must walk in all phases of the championship and that you are responsible for providing your own caddie/cart driver. Caddies will NOT be available at Statesville Country Club. Players must walk and you may carry your own bag during the qualifying round. Caddies will be allowed to rent a cart for the qualifying round. However, caddies may have to share carts. Players may sit in or on a cart during the qualifying round as long as the cart does not move.

The USGA prohibits the use of cellular phones during qualifying and championship rounds. Also, the USGA does NOT allow spectator carts during qualifying rounds or the championship proper. No-shows and no-cards are reported to the USGA and are denied entry in future events. Spectator carts are not allowed.

Traditional metal spikes are not allowed. The penalty for non-compliance is disqualification.

You are entitled to one complimentary practice round (Cart not included and mandatory for practice round only) the day before the qualifier after 12 noon or whenever times are available on weekdays beginning August 3. You must call in advance to schedule a practice round. There is a mandatory $20 cart/range fee for the practice round. Players may walk during the practice round but must still pay the cart fee. Make sure to identify yourself as a U.S. Mid-Amateur qualifying participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game before calling. Cart/range fee for a caddie/cart driver on the qualifying date will be $20. If you have a walking caddie there is no cart fee but there will be a $3 range fee. Make sure to pay your appropriate fees before your tee time. The qualifier will be played from the back tees.
