Starting Time
Please check the enclosed pairing sheet for your first round starting time on Thursday, September 9th. Since there is no formal registration at Sapona Country Club, please be at your assigned tee time five minutes prior to receive your player information. Play will begin from the 1st and 10th tee at 8:00 a.m.
Qualifying Spots
TBA qualifying spots and 4 alternate positions available at this site. There are 79 competitors in the field. The number of qualifying spots will be updated at
www.carolinasgolf.org as soon as we have received the allocation from the USGA.Automotive Transportation and Caddies
Automotive transportation is permissible only for players during Sectional Qualifying rounds and during any stage of the Championship proper. Caddies shall walk at all times during a stipulated round. You are responsible for providing your own caddie. Caddies will not be available at Sapona Country Club. You may carry your own bag during the qualifying round.
Penalty for Caddie Breaching Transportation Rule: Two strokes for each hole at which any breach has occurred; maximum penalty per round: Four strokes.
USGA Policies
U.S. Senior Amateur sectional qualifying is 18 holes. The USGA prohibits the use of cellular phones during qualifying and championship rounds. Also, the USGA does not allow spectator carts during qualifying rounds or the championship proper. Spectators may not ride in player's cart. Traditional metal spikes are not allowed at Sapona Country Club. The penalty for non-compliance is disqualification. The "One-Ball" rule will be in effect. On-course playoffs for qualifying and alternate spots will begin as soon as the need is determined.

Locker Room: Players will have access to the men's locker room. Dress Code: Shorts must be Bermuda-length and shirts must have a collar. No denim. Spikeless shoes.
Practice Round and Cart/Range Fees
Practice Round: You are entitled to one complimentary practice round (not including mandatory $20 cart/range fee) on Wednesday, September 8. You must call the Sapona C.C. golf shop one week prior to schedule a practice round. There is a mandatory $20.00 cart/range fee for the practice round. Make sure to identify yourself as an U.S. Senior Amateur Championship qualifying participant when calling. Play the BLUE tees during your practice round except on holes #11, 13 and 14 play the White tee.
Qualifying Round: Cart/range fee for competitors is $20.00 for the qualifying round. For competitors that walk, there is a $5.00 range fee. Make sure to check-in with the golf shop when you arrive to pay your appropriate fees and receive range balls.
Accepted Forms of Payment
Sapona Country Club accepts MasterCard and Visa for cart/range fees and golf shop purchases. Cash only for food and beverage purchases. The halfway house located next to the putting green will be available for food and beverage.

Lodging
Lodging is available at the Holiday Inn Express-Lexington (336-243-2929) located at Exit 91 off I-85 in Lexington. Hotel is approximately 10 minutes from Sapona Country Club. A rate of $67.50 plus tax per night is offered online at www.holiday-inn.com.
Qualifying Schedule
Wednesday, September 8 Course available for practice. Must call golf shop in advance to schedule a practice round tee time.
Thursday, September 9 Qualifying Round: 18 holes of stroke play. Playoffs for qualifying and alternate spots as soon as the need is determined.
Friday, September 10 Rain date.

Pace of Play Policy
A player who is discovered taking more than 40 seconds is subject to a warning and will be so advised. The player will be notified that exceeding 40 seconds on one more occasion will result in a penalty of one stroke. A third violation will result in a two-stroke penalty, followed by disqualification. A player’s time to play begins when he has had a reasonable opportunity to reach his ball and when it is the player’s turn to play and can do so without interference or distraction. Penalties are applied individually, but more than one competitor in a group may be penalized.
