Sunset Beach, NC -- Final results of the 1st Carolinas Mixed-Team Championship hosted by Ocean Ridge Plantation's Panther's Run course in Sunset Beach, NC on September 3-4, 2006. Par 36-36--72.

Anthony and Debbie Adams of Asheville, NC shot a pair of 67's to win the first Mixed Team championship of the Carolinas Golf Association. Debbie is no stranger to winning, she has been the Women's Carolinas Amateur champion, the NC Women's State amatauer champion and holds many other titles. Husband Anthony is also a scratch player. The team of Adams-Adams said they played well together and always had a chance at birdie. The format of the championship is a 36 hole four-ball stroke play event which is flighted by score after the first round.

Kevin Atamian and Katie Brenny of Raleigh also shot sub-par rounds but found

themselves one-shot back after the final day. The biggest comeback story of

the final day though was when former Stanford player, Julie Streng of Greensboro, NC along with husband Colin shot an unbelievable 63 in the final round. "Colin played great today - he made everything he looked at," Julie said. "We had a great time getting out and playing together and look forward to being able to do it again next year."
