ROCK BARN GOLF CLUB WINS 30th CAROLINAS PRO-AMATEUR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP Pinehurst, NC -- Rock Barn Golf Club overcame a slow start to win the Pro-Amateur Club Championship with a 7-under par 65 at The National Golf Club. Rock Barn's Director of Golf Jack Fleissner of Conover, NC and amateur partner Patrick Laney of Catawba, NC edged brothers Mike and Rob Cato of Bradford Creek Golf Club in Greenville, NC by one shot. Fleissner and Laney countered some early birdies with bogies on four and six before a Laney eagle from the bunker on #8. The Rock Barn duo then reeled off five birdes on the bogey free back nine. "The good thing about today's round is that neither one of us duplicated birdies," said Fleissner. "We both played good team golf. The Carolinas Pro-Amateur Club Championship is open to CGA member clubs who are represented by a golf professional and an amateur played at four-ball stroke play. This event is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association. |
