Professionals Win 10th Victory in Tar Heel Cup Matches Southern Pines, NC - The North Carolina professionals edged the North Carolina amateurs in both singles and four-ball play to win the Tar Heel Cup matches at Pine Needles Club. In the second-round singles matches, the professionals won three, tied four and lost only one match to secure the win. The North Carolinas professionals improve their overall winning record, 10 to 2. The points are based on a Nassau format with one point each credited to the winners on the front side, the back side, and overall 18 holes. A total of three points is available in each match.
