Starting Time

Please check the enclosed pairing sheet for your starting time on Thursday, August 3.  Play will begin from the 1^st  and 10^th tees beginning at 8:00am. Remember that sectional qualifying is 36 holes, that you must walk in all phases of the championship and that you are responsible for providing your own caddie/cart driver.  Caddies will NOT be available at Myers Park CC. Players must walk at all times during the qualifying round. You may carry your own bag or have a caddie during the qualifying round. Caddies will be allowed to rent a cart for the qualifying round at this site. However, caddies may have to share carts during the qualifying round with no more than two carts allowed per group.

18-Hole Cut

After the first round, the field will be cut to the low 30% of scores and anyone within 8 strokes of the lead.  The field will be re-paired according to score for Thursday’s final round. Final round is an 8:00am double tee.

USGA Policies

The USGA prohibits the use of cellular phones during qualifying and championship rounds.  Also, the USGA does not allow spectator carts during qualifying rounds or the championship proper. Traditional metal spikes are not allowed at Myers Park CC.  The penalty for non-compliance is disqualification. The "One-Ball" rule will be in effect. The use of distance measuring devices during qualifying and championship rounds is prohibited.

Locker Room: Players will have access to the men's locker room.

Club Policies: Shirts must have collars, shorts are allowed but must be Bermuda length, and no denim. Policy is in effect for both players and caddie/cart drivers. No personal coolers.

Practice Round/Cart Fees/Food and Beverage

You are entitled to one complimentary practice round (not including mandatory $20.00 cart/range fee) from July 24-28 and July 31-August 2 when tee times are available. You must call the Myers Park CC golf shop one week in advance to schedule a practice round tee time. Make sure to identify yourself as a U.S. Amateur Championship qualifying participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game before calling. Play the Black tees during your practice round. There is a mandatory $20.00 cart/range fee for the practice round. Cart rental for caddies on August 3-4 is $20.00/round. Range balls are complimentary for contestants on August 3-4. Make sure to check-in with the golf shop when you arrive and pay your appropriate fees! Myers Park CC only accepts cash for cart and range fees. MasterCard and Visa in addition to cash for golf shop purchases. The grill room in the clubhouse will be open for food service. Cash only for food/beverage.

Qualifying Spots

4 qualifying spots and 2 alternate positions. There are 108 competitors in the field. An on-course playoff will be used to determine final qualifying or alternate positions. Players are responsible for making themselves available.

Qualifying Schedule

Wednesday, August 2       Course open for practice. Must call in advance for tee time.

Thursday, August 3            Round 1: 18 holes of stroke play. Cut to low 30% and anyone within 8 strokes.

Friday, August 4                  Final round: 18 holes of stroke play. Playoffs for qualifying spots and alternates immediately following play.

Pace of Play Policy

A player who is discovered taking more than 40 seconds is subject to a warning and will be so advised.  The player will be notified that exceeding 40 seconds on one more occasion will result in a penalty of one stroke.  A third violation will result in a two stroke penalty, followed by disqualification. A player’s time to play begins when he has had a reasonable opportunity to reach his ball and when it is the player’s turn to play and can do so without interference or distraction.  Penalties are applied individually, but more than one competitor in a group may be penalized.
