ALAMANCE COUNTRY CLUB WINS 31st CAROLINAS PRO-AMATEUR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

CONOVER, NC – Final results of the 31st Carolinas Pro-Amateur Club Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Rock Barn Golf and Country Club in Conover, NC on Monday, April 9, 2007. The championship was played at the club’s Jones Course (6998 yards, par 36-36—72).

The Burlington, NC based Alamance Country Club team of Adam McLaughlin and Richard Hogan fired a seven-under par 65 to win the championship by two-strokes. This is Alamance’s first Carolinas Pro-Amateur title.

McLaughlin, 26, carded six birdies for the Alamance Country Club duo while Hogan, a 56 year-old dentist, threw in two birdies of his own. The only miscue was a bogey on the par-4 fifth hole.

“We both putted very well today and Adam played exceptionally well with his six birdies,” stated Hogan.

Finishing in a five-way tie for second place with a five-under par 67 was Green River Country Club in Chesterfield, SC, High Point Country Club in High Point, NC, Country Club of Spartanburg in Spartanburg, SC, Boone Golf Club, Boone, NC and Cleghorn Plantation Golf Club in Rutherfordton, NC.
