Eligibility: Entry is open to any amateur golfer who is a member of a club that is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has a current USGA handicap index at a CGA member club. A player with more than one handicap index must use the lowest current index.

Format (new for 2008): USGA Rules of Golf govern play. 18 holes of individual stroke play. 100% course handicap.  Field divided into four divisions based upon handicap index, gender and age. Men A: 7.9 index or less; Men B: 8.0 index or higher; Senior Men (age 55+); Women (all). Approximate yardage: Men A (6,600 yards); Men B and Senior Men (6,000 yards); Women (5,400 yards). Players should check-in with CGA tournament director prior to play to receive official score card, rules sheet and tournament information.

Field Selection: Entry forms are accumulated for the entire Open/Close window. When a tournament oversubscribes, accepted teams and alternates are selected using a "blind draw" method. Players must enter as an individual or in a group of four. Entries with only two or three players will be returned. All player information must be filled out completely. Incomplete entries will be returned. Entries are subject to rejection at any time, including during the tournament, by the Carolinas Golf Association. The CGA is not responsible for errors or delays made by any mail or delivery courier. Fax, e-mail, telephone, late or incomplete entries are not accepted. A check for the appropriate entry fee payable to the Carolinas Golf Association must accompany each entry form. When One-Day Tournaments are scheduled on consecutive days, priority in acceptance is given to those who enter both events. Confirmation of acceptance is sent to Player 1. Preference is given to groups of four. Individual entries are paired together to fill vacant tee times. Tee time requests are not accepted. Players who are a "No Show" (DNS) or “No Card” (NC) will be suspended from the next four CGA one-day tournaments that they are eligible for including the Tournament of Champions. The suspension will carry forward between seasons if necessary.

Player Substitutions: Applies to a Group of Four players. Player substitutions are allowed at registration. Substitute players must present a current USGA handicap index® from a CGA member club, no more than 30 days old from the tournament date, to the official-in-charge at registration. A player with more than one CGA handicap index must use the lowest current index. The CGA official-in-charge reserves the rights to adjust course handicaps and withhold prizes for competitors whose handicaps are considered unrealistic or who have participated in a disproportionate share of CGA prize distributions.

Distance Measuring Devices:  Players may use an approved distance measuring device during this event.

Caddies:  No caddies.

Prizes and Merchandise: Prizes are awarded for low gross scores and low net scores in each division.  The number of net prizes is determined by the number of entries. If winners are not available, prizes are mailed to the individuals.  Ties are broken on the score card using the USGA recommended method. A player is disqualified if his net score beats the course rating by eight or more strokes and beats the next best net score by four or more strokes.

Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are valid until July 13, 2009.

Refund Policy: Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if the CGA is notified before close of entries. Refunds are not made after entries close except in the case of player illness, player injury or death in the family. An administrative fee is deducted from all refunds given after tournament closing date. Groups of Four: $20 administrative fee. Individual entry: $10 administrative fee.

Tournament of Champions: First place gross and net winners in each division will be eligible to compete in the 2008 One-Day Tournament of Champions on December 14, 2008 at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club's Course No. 5.
