Tournament Information

 

Host professional:              Jonathan York

 

Format:                                  18 holes of Pinehurst foursomes stroke play where both team members play from the teeing ground, switch golf balls for the second shot, then select one ball for the third shot and play alternate shot until the ball is holed.  A team must then complete the hole with the ball selected. 

 

Practice round:                   Practice rounds ($25 mandatory cart fee) will be available any weekday at Grandover beginning July 21st. Contestants must call the golf shop to schedule a practice round starting time.  Please identify yourself as a Carolinas Pro Junior participant when calling.  

 

Starting times:                    Event will start with an 8:30 am shotgun start.  Pairings will be available the day of the event.

 

West Course

Yardages:                             Male Professionals and Boys 14-18 will play from the BLUE tees (6800 yards). 

                                                Female professionals, boys 12-13 and girls will play from WHITE (5700 yards).

                                                11 and under will play from the red tees (5050 yards).

 

Prizes:                                   Trophies will be awarded to the winning team.

 

Lunch:                                   All players are invited to the tournament lunch following play (included in entry fee).

Caddies:                                All players will ride during this event.  Caddies are not allowed.

 

Measuring devices:           Devices that measure distance only may be used during this championship.

Method of payments:         Grandover accepts cash and credit cards for all purchases.

 

Dress code:                         No metal or ceramic spikes.

Hats/visors must be worn with brim forward and must be removed while indoors.

Collared shirts or mock turtlenecks must be worn and tucked in at all times.

Women’s fashion shirts without a collar must have sleeves.

Women’s fashion shirts must not rise above the belt line at anytime during the golf swing.

Shorts must be no more than 5” above the knee.

 

Hotel:                                     Grandover is offering a rate of $129 per night (plus tax) for a double queen or king room.  Please call Grandover direct and identify yourself with the Carolinas Golf Association Pro-Junior. 

 

Withdraws:                          If you cannot compete in this tournament, you must withdraw from the event by contacting the CGA office at 910-673-1000 prior to round 1.
