Starting Time

Please check the enclosed pairing sheet for your starting time on Wednesday, July 23.  Play will begin from the 1^st and 10^th tees beginning at 8:00am. Remember that sectional qualifying is 36 holes, that you must walk in all phases of the championship and that you are responsible for providing your own caddie/cart driver.  Caddies will NOT be available at Keith Hills CC. Players must walk at all times during the qualifying round. You may carry your own bag or have a caddie during the qualifying round. Personal pull-carts are allowed. Caddies will be allowed to rent a cart for the qualifying round at this site. However, caddies may have to share carts during the qualifying round with no more than two carts allowed per group.

18-Hole Cut

After the first round, the field will be cut to the low 30% of scores and anyone within 8 strokes of the lead.  The field will be re-paired according to score for Thursday’s final round. Final round is an 8:00am double tee.

USGA Policies

The USGA prohibits the use of cellular phones during qualifying and championship rounds.  Also, the USGA does not allow spectator carts during qualifying rounds or the championship proper. Traditional metal spikes are not allowed.  The penalty for non-compliance is disqualification. The "One-Ball" rule will be in effect. The use of distance measuring devices during qualifying and championship rounds is prohibited.

Locker Room: Players will have access to the men's locker room.

Dress Code/Club Policies: Shirts must have collars, shorts are allowed but must be Bermuda length, and no denim. Policy is for both players and caddie/cart drivers. No personal coolers.

Practice Round/Cart Fees/Food and Beverage

You are entitled to one practice round from July 21-22 when tee times are available. There is a mandatory $20.00 cart/range fee for the practice round. You may call the Keith Hills CC golf shop beginning July 14 to schedule a practice round tee time. Make sure to identify yourself as a U.S. Amateur Championship qualifying participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game before calling. Play the Blue tees during your practice round. Cart fee for caddies/cart drivers on July 23-24 is $20.00 and includes range fee. Players with caddies that walk must pay a $5.00 daily range fee. Make sure to check-in with the golf shop when you arrive and pay your appropriate fees! Any player failing to pay appropriate cart and range fees will not be allowed to start play. Keith Hills CC accepts MasterCard, Visa, and Cash for cart/range fees, golf shop purchases, and food and beverage.

Lodging

Lodging is available at the Microtel Inn-Lillington (910-893-2626) located on Hwy 421 in Lillington. Hotel is 4 miles from club. Rate of $68.00 + tax per night is offered. Identify yourself with Keith Hills Country Club to receive the discounted rate.

Qualifying Spots

The number of qualifying and alternate positions has yet to be determined. The number of qualifying spots will be updated on the CGA web site at www.carolinasgolf.org. An on-course playoff will be used to determine final qualifying or alternate positions. Players are responsible for making themselves available. The U.S. Amateur will be played August 18-24 at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in Pinehurst, NC.

Qualifying Schedule

Tuesday, July 22 Course open for practice. Must call in advance for tee time.

Wednesday, July 23           Round 1: 18 holes of stroke play. Cut to low 30% and anyone within 8 strokes.

Thursday, July 24               Final round: 18 holes of stroke play. Playoffs for qualifying spots and alternates immediately following play.

Club is located in Buies Creek, NC on Hwy 421 between Lillington and Dunn. Hotel is located in Lillington on Hwy 421.

Pace of Play Policy

A player who is discovered taking more than 40 seconds is subject to a warning and will be so advised.  The player will be notified that exceeding 40 seconds on one more occasion will result in a penalty of one stroke.  A third violation will result in a two stroke penalty, followed by disqualification. A player’s time to play begins when he has had a reasonable opportunity to reach his ball and when it is the player’s turn to play and can do so without interference or distraction.  Penalties are applied individually, but more than one competitor in a group may be penalized.
