Please check the enclosed pairing sheet for your starting time on Monday, August 11. Play will begin from the 1st and 10th tees beginning at 8:00am. Remember that sectional qualifying is 18 holes, that you must walk in all phases of the championship and that you are responsible for providing your own caddie/cart driver. Caddies will NOT be available at Carolina CC. Players must walk at all times during the qualifying round. You may carry your own bag or have a caddie during the qualifying round. Personal pull-carts are allowed. Caddies will be allowed to rent a cart for the qualifying round at this site. However, caddies may have to share carts during the qualifying round with no more than two carts allowed per group.
USGA Policies
The USGA prohibits the use of cellular phones during qualifying and championship rounds. Also, the USGA does not allow spectator carts during qualifying rounds or the championship proper. Traditional metal spikes are not allowed. The penalty for non-compliance is disqualification. The "One-Ball" rule will be in effect. The use of distance measuring devices during qualifying and championship rounds is prohibited.

Locker Room: Players will have access to the men's locker room.
Dress Code/Club Policies: Shirts must have collars, shorts are allowed but must be Bermuda length, and no denim. Policy is for both players and caddie/cart drivers. No personal coolers.
You are entitled to one practice round from August 5-10 when tee times are available. There is a mandatory $20.00 cart/range fee for the practice round. You may call the Carolina CC golf shop beginning July 29 to schedule a practice round tee time. Make sure to identify yourself as a U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship qualifying participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game before calling. Play the Black tees during your practice round. Cart fee for caddies/cart drivers on August 11 is $20.00 and includes range fee. Players with caddies that walk must pay a $10.00 range fee. Make sure to check-in with the golf shop when you arrive and pay your appropriate fees! Any player failing to pay appropriate cart and range fees will not be allowed to start play. Carolina CC only accepts cash for cart/range fees, golf shop purchases, and food and beverage. NO CREDIT CARDS! The halfway house near #6/#12 greens and the grill downstairs in the clubhouse will be open for food service.

Lodging is available at the Holiday Inn-Crabtree (919-782-8600) at the AAA rate of $110.99 at www.holiday-inn.com. There are numerous other hotels around the Crabtree Valley Mall area including Fairfield Inn (919-881-9800), Hampton Inn (919-782-1112) and Homewood Suites (919-785-1131). Hotels are approximately 10 minutes from Carolina CC.
The number of qualifying and alternate positions has yet to be determined. The number of qualifying spots will be updated on the CGA web site at www.carolinasgolf.org. An on-course playoff will be used to determine final qualifying or alternate positions. Players are responsible for making themselves available. The U.S. Mid-Amateur will be played September 6-11 at Milwaukee Country Club in River Hills, WI.
Qualifying Schedule
Sunday, August 10 Limited number of practice rounds available. Must call in advance for tee time.
Monday, August 11 Qualifying round: 18 holes of stroke play. Playoffs for qualifying spots and alternates immediately following play.
Pace of Play Policy
A player who is discovered taking more than 40 seconds is subject to a warning and will be so advised. The player will be notified that exceeding 40 seconds on one more occasion will result in a penalty of one stroke. A third violation will result in a two stroke penalty, followed by disqualification. A player’s time to play begins when he has had a reasonable opportunity to reach his ball and when it is the player’s turn to play and can do so without interference or distraction. Penalties are applied individually, but more than one competitor in a group may be penalized.
