Kannapolis, NC – Final results of the 6th NC Women’s Senior Amateur Championship hosted by The Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis, NC on Wednesday, April 29, 2009.  (Par 35-36—71, 5545 yards).

Melissa Sage of Charlotte, NC fired a 3-over par 74--147 to take home her second CGA Championship title.  Sage won this championship back in 2006.  When asked what contributed to the win Sage simply said,  "My only thought was to go out there and just play steady golf.  I didn't get in any trouble and I hit a lot of fairways and a lot of greens."  Defending champion, Patty Moore of Charlotte, NC finished four shots back with a 151.

Cynthia Curry also of Charlotte, NC had the only sub-par round of the championship shooting a one-under par 70--152 and finished alone in third.  Curry carded an eagle and three birdies on the day.

Kay Wheeler of Charlotte, NC shot a 77--156 to win the Tournament Division by one stroke over local member Libby Lewellan of Kannapolis, NC.  Peggy Hall of Belmont, NC took home the Super Senior prize.  This division plays a shorter course.  Players were flighted within their respective division for the final round.
