Reigning North Carolina Super Senior Champion, Larry Boswell of Jamestown, NC, carded a one-under par 71—137 to win by three strokes over John DeLuise of Raleigh, NC.

The victory gives Boswell his 12th CGA championship title: South Carolina Amateur Match Play (1978), Carolinas Mid-Amateur (1981, 82, 83, 87, 89), Carolinas Senior (1998), Carolinas Senior Four-Ball (2002, 03), North Carolina Senior Four-Ball (2002), North Carolina Super Senior (2008).

“It’s nice to play in a tournament that Paul Simson is not eligible for”, Boswell said jokingly during the awards ceremony.

Boswell’s solid final round included two birdies, one bogey and 15 pars including pars on every hole on the back nine.

Only Boswell and DeLuise were able to break par on the beautiful Arnold Palmer layout for 36-holes.

The top 30 scores received merchandise. Unredeemed certificates will remain at RiverTowne Country Club. Players may call the club to redeem certificates.

The Carolinas Super Senior Championship is open to males who are residents of either North Carolina or South Carolina, who are at least 65 years old and have a maximum 15.4 handicap index at a CGA member club.
