Your application for entry into the 4th Carolinas Mixed-Team Championship at Ocean Ridge Plantation, Lion’s Paw Course, in Sunset Beach, NC on September 5-6 has been received and accepted. Please review the following championship information.

Please note that there is no official registration at CGA events.  Please check in with the golf shop to pay your appropriate fees during your practice round.  Cart/range fees for championship rounds are included in your entry fee.

·         Starting Times

Saturday, September 5 will be an 8:00am double tee start for all competitors.  Sunday, September 6 will be an 8:30am shot-gun start with lunch and awards following.  Tee Times for the first round will be available by Friday, August 28, 2009 after 12:00pm.  Check the CGA website or contact the CGA office.

·         Practice Round

You are entitled to one complimentary practice round on Friday, September 4 after 12:00pm. You may call the Ocean Ridge Plantation golf shop to schedule a practice round beginning anytime. Make sure to identify yourself as a Carolinas Mixed-Team Championship participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game before calling. If you wish to play prior to the designated practice round time, the fee will be $35.00 per person.

There is a mandatory $23 golf/range fee for the practice round only. Cart use is mandatory throughout this championship. Cart/range fees are already included in your entry fee for championship rounds. After the first round, all teams will be flighted according to first round scores within their division.  Ocean Ridge Plantation accepts Cash or Visa/MasterCard/Amex for golf shop purchases and food and beverage purchases. ·         Lodging

Due to the holiday weekend, various hotels and accommodations have offered rates.  We would also advise to check into Sea Trail Golf Resort and Vacation Rental By Owner at www.vrbo.com.  A list of hotels with their contact information is listed below.  There are no group rates available.

·         Championship Format

Championship will be conducted at four-ball stroke play.  The field will be divided into flights within their division by score after the first round.  Flight breaks are determined by total team handicap index with the lowest team handicaps being placed in the lower flight. 

·         Directions to Ocean Ridge Plantation

 From Myrtle Beach, SC heading north on US-17 follow US-17 N toward Wilmington, NC passing Little River, SC and Calabash, NC continue to follow US-17 N just past Hwy. 904, turn right into Ocean Ridge Plantation

·         Spike Policy

Ocean Ridge Plantation is a spikeless facility. The penalty for non-compliance is disqualification.

·         Slow Play

Any player who is discovered taking more than 40 seconds to play a stroke is subject to a warning for slow play and will be advised of the fact.  The player will be notified that exceeding 40 seconds on one more occasion will result in a penalty of one stroke.  A third violation will result in a two-stroke penalty, followed by disqualification.

·         Cell Phones

Except for medical emergencies, use of cell phones during play is prohibited.

Championship Itinerary

Friday, September 4

                                    Course Available for Practice Rounds after 12:00pm for $23.00 a person. If you wish to play any other time the cart/range fee with be $35.00 a person.

 Saturday, September 5

7:00am                        Practice facilities and golf shop open.

8:00am – 9:50am        First round.  Players off #1 and #10 tee.

7:00pm                        Practice facilities and golf shop close.

 Sunday, September 6

7:30am                        Practice facilities and golf shop open.

8:30am                        Final round - shot-gun start for all players.

1:30pm (approx.)        Awards luncheon and trophy presentation in Lion’s Paw clubhouse.
