Format: The championship
is conducted at match play. There is an 18-hole stroke-play qualifying round to
determine match play flights and seeding.
The top 16 from the stroke-play qualifying will qualify for the
championship flight. The other players
will be in flights of 8 players based on their qualifying score. The championship flight will play 4 rounds of
match play. The first 3 rounds will be
9-hole matches with the final round being an 18-hole match (no
elimination). All other flights will
play 3 rounds of 9-hole matches (no elimination).
Practice
round: A complimentary practice round will
be available at Asheboro GC anytime from Monday, July 6th – Sunday,
July 12th. Contestants must call the golf shop to schedule a
practice round starting time. Please
identify yourself as a North Carolina Junior participant when calling.
Starting
times: Starting times will be available
through the CGA office and/or the carolinasgolf.org web site on July 6, 2009. Please do not call before this date. All players are requested to check in with
the starter 10 minutes before their tee time.
It is the player’s responsibility to be on the tee ready to play when it
is their starting time.
Yardages: Approx.
5520 yards (red/white tees).
Prizes: Trophies
will be awarded to the champions, runner-up and semi-finalist in each division.
Caddies: Players
must walk at all times, but may use a caddy.
Caddy must be 18 years of age or younger, no exceptions. Caddies must
walk at all times as well.
Measuring
devices: Devices that measure distance only may be
used during this championship.
Spectator
carts: Spectator carts will be available to
rent at a rate of $12 per person. Carts
must remain on path at all times.
Method of payments:
Dress code: No metal or ceramic spikes.
Hats/visors must
be worn with brim forward and must be removed while indoors.
Collared shirts or mock turtlenecks must be worn and
tucked in at all times.
Shorts must be
no more than 5” above the knee.
Player Registration: There is no
formal registration for this event. Each
player should check in with the starter 10 minutes before their starting time.

Please identify yourself with the Carolinas Golf Association when making
reservations.
Rankings: This
is a TYGA NC rankings event with a multiplier of 2. The top 8 players from the championship
flight will be awarded rankings points.
Parent
policy: Parents are encouraged to follow
their child. We do ask that all parents
remain on the cart path (roughs if no cart paths), unless assisting with the
search for a ball.
Withdraws: If
you cannot compete in this championship, you must withdraw from the event by
contacting the CGA office at 910-673-1000 prior to round 1. If you do not withdraw properly, you are
considered a "no show" and you will be suspended from CGA events for
1 year.
