Please review the following championship information since there is no formal championship registration at Pinewood Country Club. Remember that we are guests of the club and we need to conduct ourselves in a proper manner. Also, make sure to take care of any appropriate fees in the golf shop prior to each round and be at your assigned tee ready to play a few minutes before your tee time. Locker Room: Players will have full access to the men's locker room.
Dress Code/Coolers: Shirts must have a collar (mock neck is OK if 1 ½ inches in height), no denim, spikeless shoes. No personal coolers.
Starting times for September 18-19 will be available beginning Friday, September 11. Check the CGA website at www.carolinasgolf.org, call the CGA office or Pinewood CC golf shop. Tee time block is from 8:00-9:40am and 12:45pm-2:25pm off #1 and #10 on September 18-19. Final round is a double tee start off #1 and #10 beginning at 8:00am on September 20. The official starting clocks are located on the 1st and 10th tees.
You are entitled to one practice round on September 17 when tee times are available. You may call the Pinewood Country Club golf shop beginning September 10 to schedule a practice round. Make sure to identify yourself as a North Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game before calling. There is a mandatory $25.00 cart/range fee for the practice round. Cart fee for championship rounds is $25.00 per round. Contestants may choose to walk during championship rounds but will be subject to a $7.00 daily range fee. The club will collect cart/range fees for the first two rounds on September 18. Make sure to check-in with the golf shop and pay your cart fees. Failure to pay cart fees may result in disqualification from the championship or rejection from future CGA events.
Pinewood CC has a short practice range so please do not hit drivers while players are on the #1 green.
Personal pull-carts are NOT allowed.
Players that make the 36-hole cut will need to pay their final round cart or range fee on September 18.
Caddies are permitted but during the play of a hole, either the player or his caddie may ride in a golf cart but not both at the same time. Spectators are not allowed to ride in a player’s golf cart at any time. Club owned spectator carts are not allowed.

Food and Beverage
The clubhouse grill room will be available for food and beverage service from 7:30am-4:00pm. The men’s locker room bar will be open after 4:00pm for snacks and beverages.

Host hotels are the Fairfield Inn and Suites (336-626-9197) and the Hampton Inn-Asheboro (336-625-9000). Hotels are 10 minutes from Pinewood Country Club. Hotels serve complimentary breakfast and offers high-speed Internet access. Please identify yourself with the Carolinas Golf Association to receive the discounted rate of $89.00 + tax for either a double or king room. Hotel room block is held until September 10. Rooms will be subject to availability and standard rates after the cut-off date.
Championship Format
Championship is conducted at 54 holes of stroke play. After 36 holes, the field is cut to the low 60 scores and ties for the final round. An on-course play-off is used to break a tie for the championship. Top 30 scores will receive merchandise and are exempt into the 2010 North Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship.
To Pinewood from Points North: Hwy 220/I-73/I-74 South to Exit 51 (Ulah/Troy exit). Turn left. Club entrance on right.
To Hotels from Pinewood: Hwy 220 North. Take Hwy 64 East exit (Dixie Drive). Go 1 ½ miles and hotels on left.
Pinewood Country Club is a spikeless facility. The penalty for non-compliance is disqualification. Except for emergencies, use of cell phones during play is prohibited. Any player who is discovered taking more than 40 seconds to play a stroke is subject to a warning. A second violation will result in a one-stroke penalty; third violation will result in a two-stroke penalty followed by disqualification. Local rule allowing the use of conforming distance measuring devices will be in effect.
