Your entry into the 2nd North Carolina Super Senior Championship at the Country Club of Salisbury in Salisbury, NC on September 29-30, 2009 has been received and accepted. Please review the following championship information since there is no formal championship registration at the Country Club of Salisbury. Remember that we are guests of the club and we need to conduct ourselves in a proper manner. Also, make sure be at your assigned tee ready to play a few minutes before your tee time. Locker Room: The men's locker room will be available for players.

Dress Code/Coolers: Shirts must have a collar (mock neck is OK if 1 ½ inches in height), no denim, spikeless shoes. No personal coolers.

 

Starting Times

Starting times for September 29 will be available beginning Tuesday, September 22.  Check the CGA web site at www.carolinasgolf.org, call the CGA office or CC of Salisbury golf shop. The official starting clocks are located on the 1st and 10th tees.

 

Practice Round/Golf Carts/Pull-Carts/Caddies/Spectators

You are entitled to one practice round on Monday, September 28 after 11:00am.  You may call the Country Club of Salisbury golf shop beginning September 22 to schedule a practice round. Make sure to identify yourself as a North Carolina Super Senior Championship participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game before calling. There is a mandatory $20.00 cart/range fee for the practice round. Cart/range fee for championship rounds and awards luncheon are included in your entry fee. Cart use is mandatory for championship rounds. Personal pull-carts are NOT allowed since cart use is mandatory.

Caddies are permitted but during the play of a hole, either the player or his caddie may ride in a golf cart but not both at the same time. Spectators are not allowed to ride in a player’s golf cart at any time. Club owned spectator carts are not allowed.

Club accepts cash, MasterCard, Visa and American Express for cart/range fees, golf shop purchases and food and beverage.

 

Food and Beverage

Food and beverage service will be available to contestants in the grill room adjacent to the golf shop.

Lodging

Host hotel is the Hampton Inn-Salisbury (704-637-8000) on Klumac Road off Jake Alexander Blvd. (Hwy 601). Hotel is 10 minutes from the Country Club of Salisbury. Hotel serves complimentary breakfast and offers high-speed Internet access. Please identify yourself with the N.C. Super Senior Championship to receive the discounted rate of $109.00 + tax for either a double or king room.  Hotel room block is held until September 9. Rooms will be subject to availability and standard rates after the cut-off date.

 

Championship Format

Championship is conducted at 36 holes of stroke play. An on-course play-off is used to break a tie for the overall championship. Prizes will be awarded to the top 30 scores.

 

Championship Schedule

Monday, September 28           Course open for practice rounds. Call in advance for a starting time.

Tuesday, September 29          Championship Round 1. 8:00am tee times off #1 and #10 tees. Field re-paired according to score.

Wednesday, September 30    Championship Round 2. 9:00am shotgun start. Awards luncheon following play.

Tournament Policies

Country Club of Salisbury is a spikeless facility. The penalty for non-compliance is disqualification. Except for emergencies, use of cell phones during play is prohibited. Any player who is discovered taking more than 40 seconds to play a stroke is subject to a warning.  A second violation will result in a one stroke penalty; third violation will result in a two stroke penalty followed by disqualification. Local rule allowing the use of conforming distance measuring devices will be in effect.
