Carolinas Senior Amateur since 1999.
2. Champions of the North Carolina Senior Amateur since 2004.
3. Champions of the SCGA South Carolina Senior Amateur since 2004.
4. Players who finished 30th or better at the 2008 Carolinas Senior Amateur.
5. Individual champions of CGA and SCGA championships since 2004.
6. Players who finished top 10 at the 2009 North Carolina Senior Amateur.
7. Players who finished top 10 at the 2009 SCGA South Carolina Senior Amateur.
8. Playing members of the 2008 Carolinas Team.
9. 2008 Carolinas Men’s and Senior Men’s Player of the Year.
10. Players ranked in the Top 30 of the CGA Carolinas Senior Men's Amateur Rankings as of championship entry opening date.
11. Past CGA individual champions are exempt in all CGA senior individual events for a period of one year from the date of their 55th birthday.
12. Current USGA individual champions.
13. 2008 USGA Championship qualifiers that competed in the championship proper.
14. 2008 CPGA Senior Associate Player of the Year.
15. Current senior club champion of Palmetto Golf Club as of the opening date.
16. Special exemption bestowed by the CGA.
