Your entry into the 1st Carolinas Super Senior Championship at RiverTowne Country Club in Mt. Pleasant, SC on July 21-22, 2009 has been received and accepted. Please review the following championship information since there is no formal championship registration at RiverTowne Country Club. Remember that we are guests of the club and we need to conduct ourselves in a proper manner. Also, make sure to be at your assigned tee ready to play a few minutes before your tee time. RiverTowne Country Club Information

Locker Room: The men's locker room will be available to players during the championship.

Dress Code/Coolers: Shirts must have a collar (mock neck is OK if 1 ½ inches in height), no denim, spikeless shoes. No personal coolers.

 

Starting Times

Starting times for July 21 will be available beginning Tuesday, July 14.  Check the CGA website at www.carolinasgolf.org, call the CGA office or RiverTowne golf shop. The official starting clocks are located on the 1st and 10th tees.

 

Practice Round/Golf Carts/Pull-Carts/Caddies/Spectators

You are entitled to one practice round on Monday, July 20 when tee times are available. You may call the RiverTowne Country Club golf shop seven days in advance to schedule a practice round. Make sure to identify yourself as a Carolinas Super Senior Championship participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game before calling. There is a mandatory $20.00 cart/range fee for the practice round. Championship round cart/range fees and final round lunch are included in the entry fee. Players are required to use golf carts at this event. Personal pull-carts are NOT allowed.

Caddies are permitted but during the play of a hole, either the player or his caddie may ride in a golf cart but not both at the same time. Spectators are not allowed to ride in a player’s golf cart at any time. Club owned spectator carts are not allowed.

Club accepts cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover for cart/range fees, golf shop purchases and food/beverage.

 

Food and Beverage

Food and beverage will be available to contestants in the clubhouse grill room.

Lodging

Host hotel is the Hampton Inn and Suites Charleston/Mt. Pleasant/Isle of Palms (843-856-3900). Hotel is approximately 15 minutes from RiverTowne Country Club. Hotel serves complimentary breakfast and offers high-speed Internet access. Please identify yourself with the Carolinas Golf Association to receive the discounted rate of $119.00 + tax for either a double or king room.  Hotel room block is held until July 1. Rooms will be subject to availability and standard rates after the cut-off date.

 

Championship Format and Schedule

Championship is conducted at 36 holes of stroke play. An on-course play-off is used to break a tie for the overall championship. Prizes will be awarded to the top-30 finishers.

Monday, July 20            Course available for practice rounds.

Tuesday, July 21           First Round: 8:00am tee times off #1 and #10 tees. Repair field according to score for final round.

Wednesday, July 22      Final Round: 9:00am shotgun start. Hosted lunch and awards immediately following play in clubhouse.

Tournament Policies

RiverTowne Country Club is a spikeless facility. The penalty for non-compliance is disqualification. Except for emergencies, use of cell phones during play is prohibited. Any player who is discovered taking more than 40 seconds to play a stroke is subject to a warning.  A second violation will result in a one-stroke penalty; third violation will result in a two-stroke penalty followed by disqualification. Local rule allowing the use of conforming distance measuring devices will be in effect.
