Starting Time
Please check the enclosed pairing
sheet for your starting time on Monday, August 17. Play will
begin from the 1st and 10th tees beginning
at 8:00am.
Automotive Transportation and
Caddies
Automotive transportation is
permissible only for players during Sectional Qualifying rounds
and during any stage of the Championship proper.
Only two carts are allowed per group. Caddies must walk at
all times during a stipulated round. You are responsible for
providing your own caddie. Caddies will not be available at the
course. You may rent a cart, carry your own bag or use a
personal pull cart during the qualifying round at this site.
Penalty for Caddie Breaching Transportation Rule: Two strokes
for each hole at which any breach has occurred; Maximum Penalty
per Round: Four strokes.
USGA Policies
The USGA prohibits the use of
cellular phones during qualifying and championship rounds.
Also, the USGA does not allow spectator carts during qualifying
rounds or the championship proper. Traditional metal spikes are
not allowed. The penalty for non-compliance is
disqualification. The "One-Ball" rule will be in effect. The use
of distance measuring devices during qualifying and championship
rounds is prohibited.

Locker Room: Players will have
access to the men's locker room.
Dress Code/Club Policies: Shirts
must have collars, shorts are allowed but must be Bermuda
length, and no denim. Policy is for both players and caddies. No
personal coolers.
Practice Round/Cart Fees/Food and
Beverage
You are entitled to one
practice round on August 16 after 12:00 noon. There is a
mandatory $25.00 cart/range fee for the practice round.
You may call the Carolina CC golf shop beginning August 9 to
schedule a practice round tee time. Make sure to identify
yourself as a U.S. Senior Amateur Championship qualifying
participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game
before calling. Play the Black tees during your practice
round except play the Blue tee on hole #4. Cart fee for players
on August 17 is $25.00 and includes range fee. Players that walk
during the qualifying round must pay a $7.00 range fee. Make
sure to check-in with the golf shop when you arrive and pay your
appropriate fees! Any player failing to pay
appropriate cart and range fees will not be allowed to start
play. Carolina CC only accepts cash for cart/range fees,
golf shop purchases, and food and beverage. NO CREDIT CARDS!
The halfway house near #6/#12 greens and the bar downstairs in
the clubhouse will be open for food service. There will be a
lunch buffet available for purchase by players on August 17.

Lodging
Lodging is available at the
Homewood Suites (919-785-1131) at the AAA rate of $118.15 at
www.hilton.com. There are numerous other hotels around the
Crabtree Valley Mall area including Fairfield Inn (919-881-9800)
and Hampton Inn (919-782-1112). Hotels are approximately 10
minutes from Carolina CC.
Qualifying Spots
There
are 71 competitors at this qualifying site. The number of
qualifying and alternate positions has yet to be determined. The
number of qualifying spots will be updated on the CGA web site
at
www.carolinasgolf.org. An on-course playoff will be used to
determine final qualifying or alternate positions. Players are
responsible for making themselves available. The U.S. Senior
Amateur will be played September 12-17 at Beverly Country Club
in Chicago, IL.

Pace of Play Policy
A player who
is discovered taking more than 40 seconds is subject to a
warning and will be so advised. The player will be notified
that exceeding 40 seconds on one more occasion will result in a
penalty of one stroke. A third violation will result in a two
stroke penalty, followed by disqualification. A player’s time to
play begins when he has had a reasonable opportunity to reach
his ball and when it is the player’s turn to play and can do so
without interference or distraction. Penalties are applied
individually, but more than one competitor in a group may be
penalized.
