2009
U.S. Senior Open Championship Sectional Qualifying Contestants
FROM:
Ray Novicki, Carolinas Golf Association
*********************************************************************************************************************************
Starting Time: Please check the enclosed
pairing sheet for your starting time on Monday, June 29, 2009. Because
there is no formal registration, please pay all necessary fees and be at
your assigned tee five minutes prior to your time in order to receive
player information. Remember that we are guests of The Governors Club
and must conduct ourselves in a proper manner. Call me at the CGA office or
e-mail me at rnovicki@carolinasgolf.org if you have any
questions. Good luck.
Automotive Transportation and Caddies: Remember that
sectional qualifying is 18 holes, that you must walk in all phases of
the championship and that you are responsible for providing your own
caddie/cart driver. Caddies will NOT be available at the club.
Players must walk but you may carry your own bag during the qualifying round.
Caddies will be allowed to rent a cart for the qualifying round at this
site. Private pull carts are allowed. The range fee for players not renting
a cart will be $5.
USGA Policies: The USGA prohibits
the use of cell phones during qualifying and championship rounds. Also, the
USGA does not allow spectator carts during qualifying rounds or the
championship proper. The "One-Ball" rule will be in effect.
On-course playoffs for qualifying and alternate spots will begin as soon as
the need is determined. DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES ARE NOT
ALLOWED.
Dress Code: Shorts are allowed
but must be Bermuda-length. Shirts must have a collar and no denim is
allowed. The dress code also applies to caddies. Mock turtle golf shirts
are allowed. Traditional metal spikes are not allowed. The penalty for
non-compliance is disqualification.
Practice Round: You are entitled to
ONE complimentary practice round ($20.00 MANDATORY cart/range
fee not included) on Sunday, June 28 after 12:00 or whenever times are
available on weekdays the week prior. You must call the golf shop in
advance to schedule a practice round tee time. Make sure to identify
yourself as an U.S. Senior Open Championship Qualifying participant when
calling. Don't just show up and expect to be accommodated.
Tentative Tees for the Qualifier: Play the
back tees on all par 5’s and the next to back tees on the rest of the
holes.
Accepted Forms of Payment: The club accepts CASH
ONLY for food/beverage. Cart rental and golf shop merchandise
may be paid by cash, MasterCard or Visa.
