Your application for entry into the 11th North Carolina Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at the Forest Lake Club in Columbia, SC on September 29-30, 2009 has been received and accepted. Please review the following championship information. There is no official check-in at CGA events so please be sure to be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.
Starting times for September 29th will be available on Wednesday, September 23 after 5:00pm. Check the CGA web site at www.carolinasgolf.org, call the CGA office or the Forest Lake Club golf shop. Wednesday, September 30th will be a 9:30am shot-gun start.
You are entitled to one complimentary practice round on Monday, September 28th or when times are available. You may call the Forest Lake Club golf shop to schedule a practice round beginning Friday, September 18th – NO EARLIER. Make sure to identify yourself as a Carolinas Women’s Senior Amateur Championship participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game before calling. There is a mandatory $20 cart/range fee for the practice round. Cart/range fee for each championship round is included in your entry fee. Cart fee is mandatory for the practice round. All players MUST use a cart during the championship rounds.
Championship players will play the CGA tees throughout the championship (approximately 5602 yards). There will be a separate tournament division. Tournament division players will play the club tees throughout the championship (approximately 5150 yards).
IMPORTANT--- Club Policies: The Forest Lake Club accepts ONLY CASH or CHECK for payment for cart fees and food and beverage. A credit card may be used for golf shop purchases. Also, be advised that the Forest Lake Club is a non-metal spike facility. No denim, shirts must have collars and shorts must be Bermuda-length. No personal coolers.
Championship headquarters will be the Hampton Inn, Columbia-Northeast (Two Notch Road). The Hampton Inn is offering a discount rate of $89 plus tax per night. Please identify yourself with the Carolinas Golf Association to receive the special rate. PLEASE call by September 19th to book your reservation.
Championship Format
36 holes of stroke play with a Championship Division and a Tournament Tee Division (shorter tees). Trophie(s) will also be awarded to Super Seniors (65 or older) that play in the tournament tee division.
Players will be flighted by gross score after the first round within their respected divisions.

From I-77: Exit 17 to US 1 (Two Notch Rd) South, 1/2 miles to 2nd light and turn right on Barbara Drive to the hotel. From I-20: Exit 74 to US 1 (Two Notch Rd) North, 1/4 miles to 3rd light north of I-20 and then left on Barbara Drive to the hotel. From SC Hwy 277: to I-20 East Exit 74, Two Notch Road - turn left 1/4 mile to Barbara Drive.
The Forest Lake Club is a spikeless facility. The penalty for non-compliance is disqualification.
Slow Play
Any player who is discovered taking more than 40 seconds to play a stroke is subject to a warning for slow play and will be advised of the fact. The player will be notified that exceeding 40 seconds on one more occasion will result in a penalty of one stroke. A third violation will result in a two stroke penalty, followed by disqualification.
Except for medical emergencies, use of cell phones during play is prohibited.

Monday, September 28
12:00pm - On Course Open for Practice Rounds
*Players may begin to contact the club for practice round tee times on Friday, September 18, 2009.
Tuesday, September 29
7:00 am Practice facilities and golf shop open.
8:00 am-TBA 1st Round, #1 Tee.
6:00 pm Practice facilities and golf shop close.
Wednesday, September 30
8:00 am Practice facilities and golf shop open.
9:30 am Final Round. Shot-gun start for all competitors.
2:00 pm (approx.) Awards Ceremony and luncheon immediately following play.
