Greenville, SC -- First and Quarterfinal match play results of the 53rd Carolinas Junior Girls' Championship hosted by Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, SC on Wednesday, July 1, 2009.  Par 36-36--72, 5926 yards.) 

 

The first round started off with a one hour rain delay but then the skies cleared and the first and quarterfinal rounds of match play were completed.  Three out of the four semifinalists all attend the same high school and two cousins will face off against each other for the first time in their golfing careers.  Maureen Dunnagan and Danielle Dunnagan both of Lexington, SC will have to battle it out for a spot in the finals.  They have both played in the same junior girls tournaments for years but have never had to face off against each other.  When asked how it would feel to compete against your own cousin Maureen simply replied "I don't know how I feel about it."  The other semi-finalists include Torey Johnson of Moore, SC and Kathryn Miranda also of Lexington, SC.  

 

All players were placed into fights for match play.  Tee times begin at 8:00am off the #1 tee.
