Round 1 Results and Final Round Pairings

Columbia, SC – First round results of the 11th Carolinas Women’s Senior Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Forest Lake Club in Columbia, SC on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 (par 36-36-72, 5656 yards, Rating 73.1/127).

Pat Brogden of Garner, NC fired a 2-over par round of 74 to take the lead by two strokes over defending champion, Patty Moore and Anne Washington of Charlotte, NC. Fast greens and strong winds made the course challenging for the first round. Brogden looks to capture her first Carolinas Women’s Senior Amateur title but not her first CGA championship crown.

In the tournament tee division, Diana Saine of Columbia, SC leads by one stroke over Frankie Garber of Florence, SC. “These greens are a lot like my club’s greens so I think it helps my short game.” These players play a shorter course.

All players were flighted for the final round.

Final round is a 9:30am shotgun start at Forest Lake on Wednesday. Final round pairings are listed at bottom.
