Player Information

Your entry into the 2010 Twin States Girls’ championship at The Windermere Club in Blythewood, SC on July 27-28, 2010 has been received and accepted.  Please read this information carefullyIf you have any questions, please refer to the championship information page (link below) or the tournament entry form.

Official in charge:               Tiffany Priest, CGA

Format:                                  Junior division:  36-holes of individual stroke play.  Players will be flighted after the first round.

                                                Sub junior division:  18-holes of individual stroke play (9 holes each day).

Practice round:                   A practice round will be available at The Windermere Club in Monday, July 26, 2010.  Contestants must call the golf shop to schedule a practice round starting time. Please identify yourself as a Twin States Girls' Championship participant when calling.  Players may call for practice round starting times beginning Monday, July 19, 2010.

Starting times:                    Starting times will be available on July 16, 2010 after 5pm through the carolinasgolf.org web site or by calling the CGA office.

Yardages:                             Approx. 6028 yards (green tees)

                                                Sub-juniors will play approx. 5000 yards (red tees).

Prizes:                                   Trophies will be awarded to the champion, runner-up and second runner-up in the championship flight and the champion and runner-up in the other flights.

Caddies:                                Players must walk at all times, but may use a caddie.  Caddie must be 18 years of age or younger, no exceptions.  Caddies must walk at all times.

Measuring devices:           Measuring devices that only measure distance may be used during the championship.

Spectator carts:                 Spectator carts will be available to rent for $20 per person.  All carts are restricted to the cart path. 

Player Registration:           Players registration will be at The Windermere Club on Monday, July 26th from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Player lunch:                        Lunch will be provided for all players after each tournament round.  No banquet.

Dress code:                         Full details  Failure to adhere to the CGA dress code will result in disqualification and may lead to being suspended from CGA events for 1 year.

Hotels:                                   The Hampton Inn, NE is offering a rate of $89.00 plus tax per night.  Room block will be held until July 19.  After this date rates will be based on availability.  Please identify yourself with Carolinas Golf Association to receive the discounted rate.

Junior Teams:                     The overall champion (if still eligible) will be invited to represent the Carolinas in the Mid-Atlantic Challenge in 2011. 

Rankings:                             This is a girls’ TYGA rankings event that has been assigned a multiplier of 8. 

                                                This is a girls’ SCJGA rankings event that has been assigned a multiplier of 7.

Parent policy:                      Parents are encouraged to follow their child.  We do ask that all parents remain on the cart path, unless assisting with the search for a ball.

Withdraws:                          If you cannot compete in this championship, you must withdraw from the event by contacting the CGA office at 910-673-1000 prior to the first round.  If you do not withdraw properly, you are considered a "no show" and may be suspended from CGA events for 1 year.

Monday, July 26

8:00am – 4:00pm               Course Open for Practice Rounds.

1:00pm – 4:00pm               Player Registration – NO MEETING.

7:00pm                                  Golf shop and practice facilities close.

 

Tuesday, July 27

7:00am                                  Practice facilities and golf shop open.

8:00am – 9:54am               First Round Begins, #1 and #10 tee.

11:30am-3:00pm                Lunch available for all players.

7:00pm                                  Practice facilities and golf shop close.

 

Wednesday, July 28

7:00am                                  Practice facilities and golf shop open.

8:30am                                  Final Round – Shot-gun start for all players.

1:00pm (approximately)     Awards luncheon for all players.
