Format:                                    36-holes individual stroke play

 

Practice round:                        Practice rounds ($25 cart fee required) will be available at Pinewild Country Club from December 21, 2009 – January 3, 2010.  Contestants are entitled to one

                                                practice round and must call the golf shop to schedule a practice round starting time.  Players may call beginning December 14th.  Please identify yourself

                                                as a Carolinas Young Amateur participant when calling.  Practice rounds are for players only.

 

Starting times:                         Starting times will be available through the CGA office and/or the carolinasgolf.org web site on December 31st. 

                                                Please do not call before this date.  Players are asked to check in with the starter at least 10 minutes before their starting time.

 

Yardages:                                Men’s divisions: Holly course black tees (except blue tees on #12) approx. 7000 yards.

            Women’s division: Holly course white tees approx. 5900 yards.

 

Prizes:                                     Trophies will be awarded to the champion in each division.  Gift certificates to the Pinewild CC golf shop will be awarded to the top 1/3 in each division.

Carts:                                       Entry fee includes cart fee for both tournament rounds, but players are welcome to walk.

 

Caddies:                                  Caddies are not allowed.

 

Measuring devices:                  Devices that measure distance only may be used during this championship.

 

Spectator carts:                       Spectator carts will be available at the discretion of the Pinewild CC golf staff.

Method of payments:               Pinewild CC accepts cash, check, MasterCard or Visa cards for golf shop purchase or food and beverage.

 

Dress code:                              No metal or ceramic spikes.

            Hats/visors must be worn with brim forward and must be removed while indoors.

            Collared shirts or mock turtlenecks must be worn and tucked in at all times.

 

Hotel:                                       Pinecrest Inn in Pinehurst is offering a special rate of $75 per room per night (plus tax) which includes a full country breakfast for 2.

Withdraws:                              If you cannot compete in this tournament, you must withdraw from the event by contacting the CGA office at 910-673-1000 prior to round 1. 

                                                If you do not withdraw properly, you are considered a "no show" and you may be suspended from CGA events for 1 year.
