2010 CGA Island Four-Ball Tournament a HUGE Success

West End, NC (2/21/10) - The Carolinas Golf Association's 14th Island Four-Ball Getaway Tournament was held February 17-19 at Casa de Campo Resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic. The 54-hole four-ball event was played on the resorts three Pete Dye designed golf courses including the world famous Teeth of the Dog. Click on the "Tournament Results" button for final results. The 70 tournament participants enjoyed great weather (low humidity and sunny with highs in the low to mid-80's), world famous golf, fine cuisine and the impressive renovations made to the main area of the resort. The CGA thanks this year's participants and we will begin to work with the resort to schedule the 2011 trip.

Casa de Campo Renovations to be Completed in December 2009

West End, NC (12/1/09) - The CGA has received word from Casa de Campo Resort that all renovations in the main area of the resort will be completed in December 2009. Therefore our participants will enjoy the newly renovated areas of the resort on the trip this year. CGA will send participants an updated list of restaurants/bars listing that is included in the getaway package as soon as that list is available.

CGA Returns to Casa de Campo for Island Getaway Trip

West End, NC (8/13/09) - The all-inclusive Casa de Campo Resort in the Dominican Republic will host the 14th annual CGA Island Four-Ball Getaway on February 16-20, 2010. The Island Four-Ball is a three-day four-ball (better-ball) partners event or for those non-golfers a chance to escape to warmer climates in February. Teams are pre-flighted according to handicap with higher-handicap participants playing shorter tees.  Teams may choose which division/tees to compete  in (Championship or Tournament).

Prices have dropped for 2010! The 4-night package is designed for arrival on Tuesday, February 16 and departure on Saturday, February 20, with tournament rounds on February 17-19. There are also 5-night (Feb. 15-20), 7-night (Feb. 13-20) and extra nights package rates available. Also new this year is that airport transfers from all area airports is included in the package.

Casa de Campo is home to three Pete Dye designed golf courses. Dye, considered by many to be the world’s most renowned golf course architect, has designed three of the most internationally renowned courses at Casa de Campo. The breathtakingly beautiful Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore and Links courses offer distinct challenges and distinguished charm and beauty.  Each course will host one round of the tournament.

Not playing golf? There are also other exciting ways for adults to play all day...or do nothing, relax and sit at the beach or by the pool all day. Whether you practice a sport you already love or want to try something new, Casa de Campo offers round-the-clock options ranging from tennis and trail riding to sport fishing and skeet shooting.
