Southern Pines, NC: Three teams went into a playoff for the Parent-Child Championship. Tied at 72 were last year’s champions Gig and Stacy Hilton, three time champions William and Katie Garahan and first time contenders L.D. & Gracie Simmons. All three teams parred the first two playoff holes and then on the par 4 third, William Garahan selected Katies drive and hit it to within 10 feet. From there Katie drained the birdie putt for the title. The Garahans now hold the record for the most wins in the Parent-Child Championship with four and this is the third time they have won in a playoff.
