U.S. Open Final Qualifying Comes to Gaston Country Club

The road to the 2026 U.S. Open Championship concludes on Monday, June 8, as Gaston Country Club hosts one of 10 final qualifying sites worldwide for Golf's Longest Day.

A field of 78 players will compete over 36 holes for a place in the 126th U.S. Open Championship, set for June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. The final number of qualifying spots available from the Gastonia site will be announced on Monday.

Notable players competing at Gaston Country Club include:

  • Webb Simpson (Charlotte, N.C.) – 2012 U.S. Open champion and seven-time PGA Tour winner.

  • Bill Haas (Greenville, S.C.) – Six-time PGA Tour winner and 10-time U.S. Open competitor.

  • Chesson Hadley (Raleigh, N.C.) – PGA Tour winner and four-time U.S. Open participant.

  • Chez Reavie (Scottsdale, Ariz.) – Three-time PGA Tour winner with eight U.S. Open appearances.

  • Doc Redman (Raleigh, N.C.)  2017 U.S. Amateur champion and Korn Ferry Tour winner.

  • Taylor Dickson (Gastonia, N.C.) – Gastonia native and recent Korn Ferry Tour winner.

  • Jackson Van Paris (Pinehurst, N.C.) – Two-time CGA Champion and second-year Korn Ferry Tour member.
