Hanahan, SC --- Second round results of the 86th Women's Carolinas
Amateur Championship hosted by Yeamans Hall Club on
Wednesday, May 16 2012. Par 36-36--72 5,922 yards.
Katie Rose Higgins of Charleston, SC
shot a two over par 74--144 to take medalist honors and leads the WCGA
Championship by two shots over Kathryn Miranda of Lexington, SC and Stacey
Tomlinson of Greeleyville, SC. The low round of
the day was shot by Katelyn Dambaugh of Goose Creek,
SC who shot a one under par-71--147 and is currently in fourth place and is
lurking only three shots behind three shots behind the leader.
When asked how her first round play compared to today's round Higgins smiled and said
"I just wasn't in a good rhythm today with my swing. I didn't make
as many putts and I didn't hit as many greens." Higgins went on to
say that she will be in a better frame of mind heading into the final
round. "I will remain calm and focused."
In the
Carolinas Tee division Carole Jones of Hillsborough, NC. This division plays a shorter course.
In the senior division, Patty Moore
of Charlotte, NC leads by two shots over Angela Stewart of Greenville,
NC. Carole Jones of Hillsborough, NC leads the Super Senior division.
Leaders will begin play with a
shot-gun start at 9:00am.

the Women's Carolinas Golf Association (WCGA) which is a volunteer based
