Capers Cup Team Competition
It was a very close competition for the Capers
Cup this year at the 98th Carolinas Amateur Championship. The Frank F. Capers Cup Team Competition is held during
rounds one and two of the championship proper that dates back to 1913. Three or four bona fide members
from the same club comprise a team. The low three scores count each round.
The team from Raintree Country Club edged out the host club, Charlotte Country
Club, by just one stroke over the two rounds of Capers Cup competition.
Representing the victorious Raintree CC team were: Stefan Brewer, Charlotte, NC (70-69), Patrick Loeffler, Mathews, NC (72-78) and Zachery Munroe, Charlotte, NC (67-76). Twelve teams from across the Carolinas comprised the field this year. The final results are shown below:
