Bermuda Run CC to host 21st NC Junior Girls'

 
The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) has announced that the West course at Bermuda Run Country Club in Bermuda Run, N.C. will host the 21st North Carolina Junior Girls’ Championship on June 13-16, 2017.  An anticipated field of 60 junior girls will compete on the Ellis Maples designed course for the Linda Marsha Trophy that is presented to the winner each year.
 
Located just west of Winston-Salem, Bermuda Run Country Club offers the best in club membership. Golf enthusiasts will find no better place than Bermuda Run Country Club. The Club's two 18-hole courses were designed by renowned architects Ellis and Dan Maples, and they are consistently ranked among North Carolina's top course layouts.  Bermuda Run was once home to the Bing Crosby Pro-Am, which at the time was one of the most famous Pro-Am tournaments in the country, with the largest celebrity field.
 
Registration for this annual girls’ championship opens on May 8th at 8 pm.
 
DATES
June 13-16, 2017
 
FORMAT
The championship format is match play with a 36-hole stroke play qualifier to determine the seeding for match play. The top 15 girls from the stroke play qualifier will advance to match play. Defending champion Emily Hawkins of Lexington, N.C. will be seeded number one for match play.  Once a player loses a match, they are eliminated from the tournament.
 
YARDAGES
Girls will compete at approximately 5,994 yards, par 72 (75.3/1142)
 
AGE DIVISIONS
Girls will compete in one division. There are no age divisions. 
 
ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to any female amateur golfer ages 12-18 as of June 16, 2017, who has not started college, is a legal resident of North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has a current USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club that does not exceed 18.3.
 
PRIZES
Trophies are awarded to the champion, runner-up, semifinalists, quarterfinalists, and the qualifying medalist.
