2010 Carolinas Interclub Entries Are Now Open!
To: Amateur Male Golfers of CGA Member Clubs Date: January 25, 2010 RE: 2010 Carolinas Interclub Registration
The 2010 CGA Carolinas Interclub registration is now open! The Carolinas Interclub is a team competition between CGA member clubs that uses a concurrent singles and four-ball match play format. Points are awarded for each match and the team earning the most points is the match’s winner. Clubs play home and home matches against opponents in their group.
The Carolinas Interclub is a service of the Carolinas Golf Association and is open to any male member of a CGA member club in both North and South Carolina.
A pre-registration deadline of March 8, 2010 is set to allow clubs to submit applications stating their intent to compete this season. The $300.00 entry fee must be received by April 1, 2010 to complete the registration process. The registration deadline for mountain clubs closed for the winter is April 19. Payment options include MasterCard, Visa or Check payable to: Carolinas Golf Association, PO Box 319, West End, NC 27376. Regional planning meetings will be held in April at various clubs throughout the Carolinas to review the rules of play, announce the group assignments, and meet the Captains of other clubs. Sites and dates are to be determined. It is mandatory that at least one Interclub representative from each club attend a regional planning meeting. These regional meeting dates and sites will be announced in March. Captains will be informed of the regional meeting dates and locations as soon as they are scheduled.
Regular season matches begin in May and end in August. Group winners and 2nd place teams will compete in a single elimination playoff tournament beginning in September. The “Final Four” teams will square off at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club, Southern Pines, NC (with Semi-finals on Saturday, November 13, and the Championship match on Sunday, November 14) to determine the 2010 Interclub Champion.
I encourage all interested clubs to register as a group (maximum of four clubs per group). If your club has other area clubs wishing to participate, you are also encouraged to solicit these clubs to join the Carolinas Interclub with you in a pre-arranged group. Otherwise, the CGA will group you with other local or area clubs.
