BURLINGTON, NC – Sectional qualifying results of the 36th Carolinas Mid-Amateur Championship hosted by Alamance Country Club in Burlington, NC on Monday, March 21, 2016 (6492 yards, Par 35-36—71, (71.4/126).
Ashley Fuquay of Greensboro, NC posted a two-under par 69 to earn medalist honors.
The cut line fell at eight-over par 79. 38 players advanced to the 36th Carolinas Mid-Amateur Championship that will be played April 15-17, 216 at Dataw Island Club in Dataw Island, SC.

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (March 2, 2016) -- The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) has announced The Race to the Carolinas Cup, a new women’s golf program in 2016. Much like the LPGA Tour’s Race to the CME Globe or the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup, the Race to the Carolinas Cup is a season-long points competition in which players accumulate points based on team finish and participation in CGA Ladies’ Four-Ball Play Days.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (February 21, 2016) -- On February 19, 2016, the Carolinas Golf Association’s annual meeting was held at the Country Club of Charleston. Lawrence Hicks of Greensboro, N.C., was elected to serve a two-year term as 55th president of the Association. The 63-year-old Hicks, a retired entrepreneur, has served on the CGA’s Executive Committee since 2006. He was elected secretary in 2012 and vice president in 2014.
