The Carolinas Golf Foundation (CGF) supports eligible Carolinas-based programs that expand the game’s reach to strengthen golf communities which includes college scholarships, junior and women’s golf development, inclusion and adaptive initiatives, and turfgrass research.

Eligibility

Requests must directly benefit golf in North or South Carolina.

Who Can Apply & Criteria

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit, public school, or public agency serving NC/SC
  • Program or project directly benefits golf in the Carolinas
  • Clear, measurable goals and itemized budget
  • Capacity to track outcomes and report impact
  • Willingness to recognize CGF/CGA support (as appropriate)

How To Apply

Plan ahead—submissions open Tuesday after Thanksgiving and are due by the second Monday of January, each year.

Step 1

Review Eligibility

Confirm your organization and project meet the criteria above.

Step 2

Prepare Materials

Budget, timeline, purpose of funds, impact goals, recognition plan, Tax ID, and any supporting documents.

Step 3

Submit Application

Complete the ONLINE Request for Funding form and submit by the deadline.

What To Expect After Application

Timeline

Applications open the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (Giving Tuesday). Applications close the second Monday of January. Reviews typically occur in February with notifications in early March.

Grant Awards

Approved grants are awarded by the end of March.

Recognition Plan

Awardees are requested to provide how CGF was recognized for the grant you received.

Reporting

Awardees are requested to provide a brief outcomes report and proof of spend (receipts), if purchases are involved.

Common Questions

Can individuals apply?

Typically no. Applicants should be 501(c)(3) organizations, schools, or public agencies.

Do you fund equipment purchases?

Possibly, if the purchase directly supports program outcomes. Include quotes and itemize the request.

What supporting documents should I include?

These are recommended in your application: past grant recognition acknowledgements, thank you cards from past grants, letters, photos, etc.

When will we hear back?

Most applicants are notified within 6–8 weeks of the deadline.

I was awarded a grant. When will I receive the funds?

Awards will be distributed by the end of March.

Can we apply for multi-year funding?

Awards are a one-year committment; however, organizations are encouraged to apply year after year.
