Scott Harvey, of Greensboro, N.C., is the #1 ranked amateur in the Carolinas. The three-time Carolinas Player of the Year had a 2014 golf season to remember. He was selected to Team USA’s roster for the Concession Cup in May. Then in July he won the Cardinal Amateur. At the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship in September, he was stroke-play medalist and went on to win the championship. He was named the Southern Golf Association’s National Amateur of the Month for September.

"Then there were two". In April 2014 the CGA Interclub kicked off its 17th season with 69 teams representing 63 member clubs from both North and South Carolina. Following the regular season which ended in August, the playoffs began in early September with a record 40 teams based on won/loss records. As of Saturday morning, 4 teams remained standing with just two regional finals left to determine who would battle for the Championship in Southern Pines.

Match Highlights

Following a years absence from Interclub competition due to course renovation, Rock Hill CC (Rock Hill, SC) completed the semi-finals bracket following their win over Tega Cay (Tega Cay, SC) on Saturday November 8. Rock Hill CC will now face The Creek (Charlotte, NC) next Saturday with the winner advancing to the Finals on November 22nd/23rd in Southern Pines. Last week-ends Interclub competition saw two more teams advance to the semi-finals. Maple Chase CC (Winston-Salem, NC) defeated Pine Hollow GC (Clayton, NC) 10 1/2 to 7 1/2 and will face Willow Springs CC (Wilson, NC) for the right to advance to the championship match in Southern Pines on November 22nd & 23rd.
