Final Round Results


Whispering Pines, NC – Final round results from the 9th Carolinas Junior Girls’ 15 and Under Championship at Country Club of Whispering Pines on July 14, 2015.

Results

Hailey Joy of Reidsville, NC won the 9th Carolinas’ Girls’ 15 and Under in a playoff over Anna McDonald of Hickory, NC. Joy shot a 79 in the final round for a two round total of 157. Her 78 yesterday earned her championship flight medalist honors. McDonald started the day two shots behind but fired today with a tournament Championship Flight low, 77, to match Joy’s 157. The playoff only needed one hole, where Joy won with a par. Joy credited her driver and steady irons as the key today, “Even though I’m going through a swing change I was still able to hone it in and play well,” she explained. Muskan Uppal of Cornelius, NC birdied her final two holes to  finish third in the championship flight with a two day total of 160.

In the Juniors division, Nicole Adams of Pinehurst, NC carded a 76 today to take home champion honors. With a two day total of 153 she finished 14 shots ahead of runner-up Maria Atwood of Holly Springs, NC. Atwood’s 80 today earned her the runner-up title while Carmen Tucker of Fayetteville, NC claimed third place with a two day total of 171.

Macie Burcham of Greensboro, NC won the Sub-Juniors division with a 47 today and two day total of 92. With a two day total of 95, Gaby Tucker of Fayetteville, NC earned runner-up honors. Camille Oliver of Cary, NC finished in third place with a 106. The Sub-Juniors played 9 holes each day.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.
