Pine Lakes CC to Host Carolinas Net Am


Pine Lakes Country Club in Myrtle Beach will host the 6th Carolinas Net Amateur


SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (November 9, 2016) –  A field of 107 players are registered for the 6th Carolinas Net Amateur Championship to be held at Pine Lakes Country Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on November 12-13. Overall champions will be crowned in six divisions (Men, Women, Senior Men, Senior Women, Super Senior Men, and Super Senior Women). Some of last year’s winners -- Senior Men’s Champion - Jeff Yohn of Kernersville, N.C.; Senior Women’s Champion - Mary Jones of Simpsonville, S.C.; and Super Senior Women's Champion Maggie Collins of Greensboro, N.C.-- return to defend their titles.

This championship is co-conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA), South Carolina Golf Association (SCGA) and Women’s South Carolina Golf Association (WSCGA).

Format: USGA Rules Apply, 36 holes of net stroke play using 100% Course Handicap. Net Score is calculated by subtracting Course Handicap from Gross Score. Players are assigned into flights within divisions by net score following the first round.

Eligibility: Entry is open to any amateur golfer who has reached his or her 18th birthday by November 12, 2016, is a legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA), South Carolina Golf Association (SCGA) or Women’s South Carolina Golf Association (WSCGA) and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA/SCGA/WSCGA member club.

Schedule of Rounds:
Saturday, November 12
First Round: 10:00am shotgun start.
Re-pair and flight field within divisions according to net score for final round.

Sunday, November 13
Final Round: 10:00am shotgun start.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers.
