Paul Simson of Raleigh, N.C. is back to defend his title at the 11th Carolinas Super Senior Championship. Simson is coming in hot off a win at the N.C. Senior Four-Ball Championship at Mill Creek Golf Club last week. The event marked Simson’s third N.C. Senior Four-Ball Championship title and eighth CGA four-ball championship title with his partner Don Detweiler also of Raleigh, N.C. The win also gave Simson his 37th lifetime CGA Championship title.

The championship, originally scheduled for June, was postponed to August due to inclement weather. Here are some players to watch in this year’s field:

Players to watch:

  • Russ Perry of Winston-Salem, N.C. is the reigning CGA Men’s Super Senior Player of the Year, a six-time CGA champion and after a second place finish in this event last year he is looking to make this event his seventh championship title. Perry is currently the top-ranked Carolinas Super Senior Men’s Player.
  • Paul Simson of Raleigh, N.C. is currently number two on the Carolinas Super Senior Men’s Player Rankings. A win this week would be three in a row for Simson at this event.
