Preview of Inaugural NC Super Senior Four-Ball

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (March 22, 2017) --  Benjamin Franklin said: "We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing." With that quote in mind, the Carolinas Golf Association is please to debut the first North Carolina Super Senior Four-Ball Championship, open to men ages 65 and older. The tournament will be played on the Farm Course at Greensboro Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. on March 29-30.

The club made changes to The Farm property, which is located 10 miles from the center of Greensboro and was once home to a dairy farm, since acquiring it in 1969. After meeting with several architects in 2008, the club hired British course architect Donald Steel to bring the Ellis Maples-designed Farm Course into the 21st century. The course reopened in 2010 with five new holes and several more that were reshaped to bring water into play or heighten the course's beautiful vistas.

This will be the 18th CGA championship hosted by Greensboro CC and the ninth held at The Farm Course. The 2011 North Carolina Amateur was won there by current PGA TOUR player Harold Varner III. At the most recent CGA championship conducted on The Farm Course, Carter Jenkins became the second player in history to win three consecutive Carolinas Amateur titles when he captured the 101st edition in 2015.
